Middles School
Middles School or Junior High school is an intermediate level that is situated between elementary and high school level. It is a transitional stage when pupils get more accustomed to studying profoundly the different school subjects. Middles school is also called Secondary school in some countries around the world. The Educational system in some countries is quite different than in Europe and in America, but the levels are quite similar. Students of a young age (between 10 and 13) are enrolled in Middles school and they may spend an average of 3 to 4 years studying different school subjects and getting prepared for a more specified kind of studies. The main school subjects that are taught in middles school are quite familiar to anyone: Mathematics, History, Geography, Languages ...etc. Most of the time, students must put on uniforms once they are in middles school. Those uniforms consist frequently of a dark-colored suit, a white shirt, a tie and classic pair of shoes. Girls do put on skirts rather than pants. Similarity of clothes helps both students and teachers to treat learners the same way regardless of their social class or ethnicity. Most of the time admission to middles school is not regulated. It’s usually an open access kind of schools, and people could get their kids enrolled without any prior evaluation or placement tests. This is mainly due to the compulsoriness of education as a pillar rule in the western world. Students are supposed to behave correctly and adequately. They do observe some important rules on the level of in-class behavior, homework, dress, sport activities, and outdoor recreation. Teachers do set a sort of daily follow-up of students’ attendance as well as their performance in class. This is a real ant-like job that necessitate lots of efforts and hard work.
There are no particular fees for students who get enrolled in middles school, but parents should get a compulsory insurance for their kids once enrolled. There are no other additional fees, and students who are coming from low social classes can apply for financial aid. This is usually given in a form of scholarships granted to students who are in a real need. They are also assisted by social workers that work hand in hand with the other administrative staff. Parents are also invited to participate in periodical meetings to supervise the progress of their children education and to take part in the decision making within the middles school.
